General Purpose:

Responsible for washing and sanitizing of dishes, silverware and utensils used by the kitchen in the service of residents and personnel. Maintain general cleanliness of the dish washing area in a manner acceptable by Licensing and the regulating agencies.

Essential Job Functions:

    • Administrative Function : Directly reports to the Cook.

    • Food and Preparation Functions : Store food and supplies and dispose of waste/refuse as required by standard procedures. Perform cleaning assignments as scheduled. Maintain order of all utensils, equipment and supplies. Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area in accordance with facility policies, licensing and regulating agencies.

    • Training : Attend all required in-service training.

    • Resident’s Rights Functions : Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding resident’s rights.

    • Physical/Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): Walking, reaching, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures; read and write English, communicate with residents and personnel. Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write and follow verbal instructions and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

    • Must have a cleared fingerprint record obtained from the Department of Justice as required by Community Care Licensing.
